Gimme an A! The Secrets of College Success is an exciting, multimedia presentation designed to show students all they need to know to succeed in college. Based on the book, The Secrets of College Success – winner of a 2010 USA Book News "Best Book Award" — the hour-long event combines authoritative, high-value tips – all presented by professors – with games, prizes and whole-audience participation that keep students entertained and involved throughout the performance.

The presentation is divided into four segments:

  1. Top 10 Tips for College Success. The most important things you need to know.
  2. Karaoke with the Professor. Contestants come to the stage and sing their hearts out, in the process learning how to approach their profs.
  3. The Grading Game. A fast-paced game in which students learn how to interact with their professors (often with unpredictable results)
  4. It All Begins with One. A motivational wrap-up with a roadmap for action.

Professors Jeremy S Hyman and Lynn F Jacobs have taught at eight different colleges in their 25+ year teaching careers. The tips they offer have been time-tested with tens of thousands of students and are guaranteed to work with your students. The program is ideal for Orientation, Welcome Week, First Year Experience, Convocation, and Greek events, and has been presented at dozens of colleges to groups ranging from 6 to 6,000 students.
